Transfer Domains In

Bringing a domain onto Doma is the first step to tokenizing it and turning it into a fully onchain asset. Once transferred, you can trade, launch, or manage it just like any other Doma domain.

Before You Start

Two things need to be in place before your transfer can go through:

• Unlock your domain. Log in to your current registrar and disable the transfer lock (also called a registrar lock or domain lock). E.g. GoDaddy Example - https://www.godaddy.com/help/transfer-my-domain-away-from-godaddy-3560:

• Get your authorization code. Also called an EPP code or transfer key, this is required to authorize the transfer, and your current registrar can provide it. E.g. GoDaddy Example:

Doma automatically checks whether your domains are unlocked in the background. If they're not, you'll see a note prompting you to unlock them first.

How to Transfer Your Domains

Step 1: Navigate to Transfer Domains

In the sidebar, open the Domains menu, then select Transfer Domains.

Step 2: Connect Your Wallet

Make sure you're connected with a wallet. New to Doma? Check out Create a Doma Wallet first.

Step 3: Enter Your Domain Details

Enter your domain name(s) and authorization code(s). You can add multiple domains at once or use upload a CSV file for faster bulk transfer.

Step 4: Submit Your Transfer

Click Transfer Domains to submit.

You're Ready to Go

Transfers typically complete within 5-7 days, or as soon as they're approved, and your domain keeps its current nameservers throughout the process. You can change the nameserver later anytime on Doma - see DNS Management.
